Guillotines - Standard Life
MORGANA SETS FINISHING STANDARD.
An EBA 721 LT guillotine from Morgana has just been installed in the Document Production Services department of Standard Life.
Opened less than ten years ago, the Document Production Services (DPS) unit of Standard life prints a massive 130 million images every year, issues over 13 million mail pieces, and has approximately 500 mainframe jobs, varying from chequebook printing to the production of bank, pension, insurance and investment statements, quotations and application forms. To produce this vast quantity of print, the DPS employs over 60 people and uses no fewer than 23 high-speed production printers from Xerox, including six colour and 11 highlight colour models.
One of the three functional areas into which the operations of the DPS are divided is called Despatch and Finishing, which has recently taken delivery of the EBA 721 LT guillotine from Morgana to replace an ageing Polar model. The 721LT is a powerful yet compact guillotine that is fitted with air beds front and rear and has a sophisticated programming facility which greatly speeds production of repeat work at the DPS. It is the latest in a long line of equipment that Morgana has supplied to Standard Life.
“The majority of our finishing equipment is from Morgana” says DPS Manager Vinny Wornin.
“They have a proven track record with us, based not only on the quality and cost efficiency of their equipment, but also on the reliability and fast response times on servicing and maintenance.”
Morgana equipment already operating at Standard Life prior to the installation of the EBA 721 LT includes a UFO folder and Iram multi-spindle drill.
