KB 2000 IS THE BINDER FOR BURMAN

Leading South London printer F.E. Burman has just purchased a KB2000 perfect binder from Morgana Systems as part of a digital finishing package that also included a Foldnak 8 bookletmaker and trimmer.

Established for over half a century, F.E. Burman was for many years one of London’s premier pre-press houses serving many of our biggest magazine publishers. 10 years ago the company was one of the first in the UK to install an Indigo digital press and has more recently invested in an HP Indigo 3000 as well as two B2 Karat74 presses. Today, the Bermondsey-based operation is 60% print to 40% pre-press, with more and more emphasis being placed on the print side of the business. “Given our background”, explains managing director Michael Burman, “moving into digital and direct image printing was a logical progression and we needed specialist finishing equipment.” The KB2000 and the Foldnak bookletmaker become part of a short run finishing section capable of handling everything from creasing, folding, trimming and stitching to drilling and shrink wrapping, enabling F.E. Burman to provide a fast, high quality service.
