NEW FINISHING KIT SIGNALS DRIVE FOR GROWTH AT GP PRINT

GP Print of Peterborough has purchased a CardXtra, a Foldnak 8 bookletmaker and trimmer and a Uchida collator from Morgana as the company aims for 25% year-on-year growth in 2009. Despite the gloomy economic climate, GP partners Peter Martyr and George Prickett are confident of building on a successful 2008 by broadening the scope of their operation and offering added value products to customers.

GP Print CardXtraPrimarily a trade print operation, GP Print supplies clients with a wide variety of output from Heidelberg 4 and 2-colour presses, a DocuColor 242 and a recently installed Presstek 34 DI press.

The new finishing kit, complementing previously purchased Morgana equipment like the Major folder and AutoCreaser 33, will significantly broaden GP’s range of services as well as providing greater self reliance in finishing operations.

“Our expanded bookletmaking capacity is proving a big hit with customers”, comments Peter Martyr, “while the CardXtra has given us a new revenue stream by making business card production easier, faster and more profitable.”

GP is currently in discussions with Morgana about further expanding finishing capacity through the installation of a DigiCoater micro-format UV coater, which is seen as an environmentally friendly alternative to laminating.
