DigiFold 5000P - Lithgo Press

Digital expansion calls for specialised finishing

Long established Leicester printer Lithgo Press has installed a new Morgana DigiFold 5000P creaser/folder to finish output from its rapidly expanding digital print section.

Known principally for its high quality 4 and 5-colour litho work, Lithgo has now established a thriving digital print operation based on a Xerox 700 and a DocuColor 242. “We soon realised”, says joint m.d. John Kempin, “that we had to have finishing equipment that met the specialised needs of digital print, as well as coping better with the fast changeovers required on shorter runs.”

The DigiFold met Lithgo’s requirements by being able to crease and fold accurately at speed, but in addition to using it in its dual-function role, Lithgo also make the most of its ability to act as a stand-alone creaser or perforator. “This kind of flexibility is important in a digital print operation”, comments John Kempin, “as is the quality of the finish the DigiFold provides.”
