Long-established Nottinghamshire printer Ratcliff & Roper has bought a Morgana DigiFold 5000P creaser/folder to finish output from a recently purchased Xeikon Digital web press as well as sheet fed litho work.
The Worksop-based printer is part of the R&R Print Group, which also has a site in nearby Nottingham. Founded in 1946, the company has been long recognised for the quality of its litho work, but setting up a digital arm meant taking a fresh look at its finishing procedures.“We used to crease on a cylinder press before folding”, explains M.D. Kevin White, “and also employed a system that was more scorer than creaser. Neither was satisfactory so we took an in-depth look at all the alternatives before deciding that the DigiFold would provide the best answer to our needs.”
The advantages that Kevin White saw in the DigiFold were that it would save time, not only because it performed creasing and folding operations in one pass, but also because it was quick to set up and easy to operate. Just as important was the quality of the finish. “We were impressed by the blade and matrix creasing method used on the DigiFold”, says Kevin, “and felt that it produced a superior finish in terms of accuracy and appearance.” For more information please contact:- Kevin White, Ratcliffe & Roper Tel: 01909 500 444 kevin@randrprint.co.uk
