Communication Workers Choose Morgana
The Communications Workers Union, based in Wimbledon, has updated its bookletmaking capabilities with the installation of a VF602 feeder and BM500 bookletmaker, complete with square-fold and trimmer from Morgana Systems.
Debby Akerman, Print Manager at CWU, has been delighted with the new system: “It’s brilliant. The old system was coping, but this is so much smaller and more efficient.” Debby added that she was particularly pleased with the installation and product training provided by the Morgana team.
The print room produces a wide range of material for the union, with conference agenda’s representing one of the longer run products produced. Whilst the Ricoh print engine used does have an inline stitching capability, work requiring a cover printed on different stock needs to be finished offline. The two bins of the Morgana VF602 feeder solve this issue, with covers being added to collated sets of text pages before binding in the BM500.
BM500 is capable of producing stitched booklets of up to 200 pages / 50 sheets. The patented folding mechanism employed provides a sharp and professional finish. It can work with standard A4, A3, B4, SRA4, and SRA3 paper sizes, as well as custom sizes.
The optional square-fold unit creates a square spine to a booklet, providing that professional, perfect-bound look to a finished publication.
