MITIE output gets a fast finish

MITIE Document Solutions of Bermondsey is part of the FT250 listed MITIE Group that employs 40,000 people in the UK and is best known for its multi-disciplinary building and support services.

Established in 2005 to provide what director Dave Ash describes as a "full document life cycle service" to blue chip companies both inside and outside the Group, MITIE Document Solutions has grown rapidly by offering clients everything from design and photography through to a full range of print and print management services.

It produces a wide range of work - including a growing amount of variable data printing - on an array of Xerox print engines, including two DocuColor 8000's, together capable of producing 160 A4 copies per minute.

High Volume output, produced to high quality standards and tight deadlines means that Dave Ash and his 17 strong team need finishing equipment that is fast and flexible and MITIE relies on a package that includes a Morgana AutoCreaser and ElectroCreaser together with a Foldnak 8 and trimmer from the same company.

"We started with the desk top creaser but soon realised that we needed the extra speed and power of the AutoCreaser to cope with longer runs. We like the extra functionality provided by the AutoCreaser's perforating capability, but most of all we appreciate its reliability and accuracy when working in a high pressure environment".
