Morgana to launch DigiCreaser at IPEX

15-03-2006

Morgana’s latest creasing product will be unveiled at IPEX. Called the DigiCreaser, it is fully automatic after feeding and can be supplied as a bench-top unit or with an optional base.

The DigiCreaser uses exactly the same blade and matrix creasing as the Morgana AutoCreaser to ensure optimum quality and to minimise any risk of damage to the substrate. It will operate at speeds up to 4000 sheets and hour and takes a maximum size of 630mm x 330mm, with weights up to 400 gsm. Counting, batching and perforating are all standard features.

The DigiCreaser is very easy to use, being fitted with a ‘head up’ display, which provides the operator with a series of prompts for all machine functions. It has the ability to crease 9 times on a sheet with a minimum distance of 4mm between creases. Up to nine programmes can be stored for repeat work.

According to Morgana Sales Manager John Clason, the DigiCreaser has been developed to fill the gap between basic, semi-automatic creasers and fully automatic machines such as the Morgana AutoCreaser. “We have developed it in response to demand from printers who need speed of throughput but are not working with volumes sufficient to justify a completely automatic model.” This is reflected in the DigiCreaser’s price, which, is not much more than half that of the AutoCreaser.

With the introduction of the DigiCreaser, Morgana is now the only company to offer a clear upgrade path for creasers, from manual units through to sophisticated multi-function systems like the DocuMaster. The company has also introduced a guaranteed buy-back scheme to make it easier and more economical for the printer to upgrade creasing capability as required.
